The next part is trying to work through it, and doing normal things but it still not being good enough.
Then there is the acceptance that nothing she can do is good enough because he has to make himself feel better alone. 'Keep my love as light as a feather' - trying to just be there as a friend. 'Keep my heart breaking in the dark' - not showing him, or others, how much she is hurting over the impossible situation too. 'Come and spend the night... ' - just wanting things to go back to how they were before.
